Happy New Year
Chefs choice is not always Thomas'
Thomas has a great New Years-in bed by 7 and for the 2nd year in a row-no amount of very abundant neighborhood fireworks could roust him...yet his parents checking in on him at 2 a.m. does!
Feed me Arrrgh! In addition to the grieving and family visits we also had a cold snap, several days of below freezing weather that promptly eradicated any progress the Dad had made with the plants/gardening.

Thomas was not able to help in the yard since he was busy with toys and all his new chores. According to the books we read to assure us we are good parents, he is at the age where chores are appropriate, so let's see....the official ones are: pushing the buttons for the garage door opener and overhead lights, closing some of the doors in the house, turning lights and fans on/off as we enter/egress our domicile, and as luck would have it, one of his unoffical ones is flushing any toilet he can get to before we can stop him. Thomas is also good at testing out toilet paper rolls for speed of release(for the record it is from underneath/behind the roll).

(file footage)We are finding it hard to believe he is nearing two years of age; I had hoped to have had him potty trained by now, a lapse of reality for me that still confounds the wife who has explained to me more than once that it is not as easy as I anticipated.
Recent checks put him over 27 pounds and 33 inches tall. His latest words are brief yet meaningful, fish, dog, truck, car, Chris(Uncle), and even a half comprehensible "mommy"..."Daddy" he has figured out but he still cheats when prompted to say "mommy" by looking at her when she is in the room or pointing at her picture in her absence. The booger.

Merry Ho Ho
Tomorrow's headline-"Gift bag bigger than Thomas sends Santa to the Chiropractor"
Sharing the love with Shelby.
6 more months then I get to use this!Good thing I have lots of books!

Santa's helper surprises Christopher at work(by not getting the carts out of the parking lot!)
So hopefully everyone had a great holiday and were surrounded by the blessings of family.
Thomas got many neat toys to grow into since he seems to get/and enjoy the ones for ages 3 and up! He also got to eat lots of junk food and someone, a few aunts I think, kept him on the soda train for the last week, yippee for burpy kids and messy diapers! It was good to get another Xmas under our belt, Thomas really enjoyed seeing everyone, playing with the dogs and checking out meticulously each and every gift. Thomas still hasn't gotten the whole part about ripping through the wrapping paper with wild abandon, maybe next year.
